On-grid / Net Metering solar systems generate electricity for your home or business and route the excess power into the utility grid. These systems are connected to the public electricity grid and do not require battery storage. Any power that you generate from a Solar On-grid system is exported onto the electricity grid and you usually get paid a feed-in-tariff (FiT) for the energy that you export.
Net Metering gives a return on investment in a few years and that period can be further reduced by claiming 80% accelerated tax depreciation against the project cost.
